The X-Files is a science fiction television show from the 90s following FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully as they investigate the the eponymous X-Files — a series of unexplained and/or possibly supernaturally-related unsolved cases. It's a bit cheesy at times, a little spooky, and whole lot of fun. I could write a whole essay on how Scully and Mulder defined the dynamics of buddy-cop genre media from then on (and why no one has gotten it right ever since), but I'll spare you, reader. For now.
