Books
I don't read nearly as many books as I'd like to, but below are some I've especially enjoyed!
- Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer: WILD as hell, I don't think any book has ever kept me awake at night like this one has. An anonymous group of scientists investigates a bizarre phenomenon known as Area X. Just good ol' classic sci-fi horror!
- House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski: I can't NOT include this one if I'm listing all the weird horror novels I've read. Complete mindfuck with a surprising amount of heart to it.
- We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson: Freaky sister complex horror my beloved... I will forever be enamored by Merricat Blackwood.
- And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie: I have a love/hate relationship with Agatha Christie, but damn do I love a good mystery (of which this is!). Definitely pick up a modern edited copy for language reasons.
- Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman: I watched the show before I read the book (oops), but the book is even better.

- Night in the Woods
- Okami
- Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors (999)
- Omori
- Elevator Hitch

Audio
Podcasts and music!
- The Magnus Archives: if we know each other you probably already know this one. Primarily episodic horror anthology audiodrama with a great underlying plot
- Malevolent: audiodrama about a guy who loses his site to the lovecraftian being that he's stuck in a body with. A bit more intense than TMA, but has some really compelling characters
- Nightfall: this is an old Canadian radio show from the early 80s! A mix of audio adaptions of classic horror short stories and original fiction. Episodes can be found on both spotify and youtube
- SCNTFC: composer behind the Oxenfree soundtracks!
- Hadestown by Anaïs Mitchell: I'm really not a musical person, but I looove this one so so very much. Retelling of the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice drawing a lot of inspiration from 1930s america
- Ulysses Dies at Dawn by The Mechanisms: all Mechs albums are fun, but this one's my favorite! Greek myth retelling set in cyberpunk space
