updates

 

I've come to the conclusion that I need to make this thing uglier.

I was looking at personal sites earlier and I just think there's a lot of charm in the eyebleeding hell of two million pixel gifs and neon colors. I don't want this site to be like, seizure inducing obviously, but I think it'd be fun to add some more images and such to keep it fun and geocities-ish. I think I'm gonna finish inputting content into the main pages (almost done, just need to wrap up recs and writing stuff) and the screw with the layout to see what I can do. Also I need to commission Louise again. And a few others. I'm feeling the need to pay for art in my bones as of late.

Stuff I did today:

• Made a fic rec page
• Added some stuff to the general recs page
• Not site related, but I started part three of my victorian au series...it's probably gonna take me a bit to get through it because the middle section is kinda formless at the moment, but I'm hoping to get it done by halloween...?

I've also been looking at webrings lately and I think it'd be fun to have a TMA fan one. Obviously I'm not gonna work on one right now, but like...future projects, ya know? (maybe call it Chelicerae? it is a "web"ring haha)

Back to the ol' grind tomorrow, later!

 

I tried to draw today and it sucked ass so I webbed more site instead. Things I did today:

• Updated a bunch of stuff on links page
• Added a guestbook
• Blinkies...I like them a lot
• Made my own lil website button! (technically did this yesterday but shh)

Yesterday a friend invited me to a tango lesson and learned a few new steps! The dance school is mostly older people, but it was still a good time. I've been meaning to get more into the dance scene in my city but first year kinda shot that to hell, so I'm hoping to have more time freed up to do so in the fall.

I'm thinking about zines again and how much I want to do more, but like, specifically smaller scale ones? It'd be fun to get, say, 10 or so people to contribute to a little digital or handmade type of project in the future...pick a theme and just let everyone go wild without having to do too much organization. Something to think about!

Next stuff to do here: work on recs and fic pages, and (still) try to get mobile working

 

Update from the past two days because I forgot to do one yesterday. Site has been mostly webbed! Still completely fucked on mobile, but I think I'm happy with the general layout currently so I'll go back and tweak those things later.

Stuff I did today:

• Figured out how to use css, so website code looks less awful
• General stylistic things
• Added links to socials
• Started on links page!

Other boring life events: got a new electric kettle because the lid broke off of my old one and it's mint green?! It's very cute. Unfortunately it was 98 degrees when I went to the store today at 6pm so it will probably be a month or two before I can even think about using it. Also started writing my first paper...still needs a good bit of data but I have the experimental sections: shooting for end of august finish date, maybe?

Next things to work on: finish links page, work on other pages, at some point tackle the mobile hurdle which will probably require a lot more youtube videos on html lol

 

Yeehaw I'm webbing a site. Lord help me. Things I did today:

• Learned about float/clear commands
• Changed some colors!
• Moved stuff around...it's getting better

Need to work on next: fonts, stylistic things, setting up some other pages. Site is currently completely fucked on mobile but that's a battle for another day.
